Local eats: review of Ovo Simply Veggie

Bottom line: Clean modern look, a decent vegetarian joint

If you're sick to death of SweetGreen salads, head down to Ovo. Pick your rice (white or brown) and pick a vegetable protein topping and a sauce ($7) - there's a mix-and-match menu posted inside ... add a salad/soup/drink for a few bucks more. First M-Square-hosted Holiday Party a Major Success

In what is likely to become an annual tradition for years to come, ESSIC held its first independently-hosted holiday party at the Center's M-Square Research Park facility, Friday, December 14th, 2012.

According to Assistant Director Andy Negri, who along with Linda Carter and Rashida Bandy comprised the ESSIC M-Square party planning committee, a locally-hosted holiday or end-of-year party was somewhat born out of necessity.

FYI - Ivy Noodles now open

They've taken over the space previously occupied by District Dumplings (may their "dumplings in chicken broth" rest in peace). It's completely redecorated now. Dark pseudo-wood panelling, groovy torch fire lighting up at the front, fluorescent pulsating-colour tubing along the wall bench area - was I at a rave or a restaurant? Mixed decor messages aside, I enjoyed my curry tofu noodle soup. Andy and Jean mostly liked their choices, too. The place did smell kinda like

Switchgear Maintenance Re-scheduled: Power outage @ESSIC, eve of 11/30

The ESSIC M-Square Bldg will undergo a scheduled power outage from Friday, Nov. 30 at 8 pm until 9 am Saturday, Dec 1. The outage is as a result of a required PEPCO "Switchgear" Maintenance procedure.  (Note: An earlier scheduled procedure for mid-October was canceled by PEPCO on the day of the event.)

The ITAP recommends that end-users shutdown their Desktops at the COB on Friday (11/30) – particularly those with external storage.
