CICS-MD Scientists win NESDIS Award

CICS-MD Scientists Xi Shao (Astronomy), Bin Zhang (ESSIC), and Yan Bai (Astronomy) were named NESDIS Outstanding Science and Research Employees of the Year for STAR’s Satellite Meteorology and Climatology Division (SMCD). Salawitch co-authored atmosphere study in latest issue of Nature

Li named AAAS Fellow

Zhanqing Li, a University of Maryland atmospheric and oceanic science professor and Earth System Science Interdisciplinary Center (ESSIC) researcher, was named a Fellow of the American Association for the Advancement of Science (AAAS) on Nov. 23.
