4th Annual CICS-MD Science Meeting scheduled

Registration is now open for the 4th Annual CICS-MD Science Meeting. It will be held on Monday, November 23, and Tuesday. November 24. The meeting will be in the ESSIC Large Conference Room, across from NCWCP in College Park, MD. We encourage all CICS-MD scientists to submit an abstract for a talk or a poster. CREST graduate student and former CICS-MD intern Equisha Glenn has published an article on her PhD research in an upcoming issue in Geophysical Research Letters (GRL). Chen wins best paper award

ESSIC Assistant Research Scientist Yong Chen, was recognized with the best proceeding paper award during the 20th International TOVS Study Conferences.  His paper entitled,"CrIS Full Resolution Processing and Validation System for JPSS," was co-authored by Yong Han , Denis Tremblay , Likun Wang , Xin Jin, and Fuzhong Weng. Researchers hope Japanese data assimilation team’s visit inspires collaboration

Kenney speaks at Sigma Xi annual meeting, receives award

ESSIC's Melissa Kenney was a keynote speaker at the Sigma Xi Annual Meeting and Student Research Conference held this year in Kansas City, Mo.  Kenney  was also formally presented with the Sigma Xi  2015 Young Investigator Award (YIA) at the event.  The award is presented annually to recognize an excellent active Sigma Xi member within 10 years of his or her highest earned degree.
