About ESSIC
ESSIC is a joint center of the University of Maryland and NASA‘s Goddard Space Flight Center that supports research, teaching and career training in Earth system science. ESSIC also administers the Cooperative Institute for Satellite Earth System Studies (CISESS), a joint center with NOAA’s NCEP and NESDIS that conducts satellite research focused on weather and water forecasting models and predictions.
People
ESSIC employs nearly 200 earth system scientists located throughout the greater Washington D.C. Metropolitan Area, including the UMCP – Discovery District campus, the NASA Goddard Space Flight Center, NOAA Center for Weather and Climate Prediction, and the NOAA Headquarters in Silver Spring.
