New yoga group meets at ESSIC

Don’t be surprised if you see a group of people walking in to a third floor wing at ESSIC with rolled up mats and donning exercise clothes. They’re the ESSIC Tuesday yoga group, led by Hui Xu and a tape recording that talks them through their poses. Employees at the NOAA World Weather Building in Camp Springs, MD have been running a similar class for nine years, and will move in to a new M Square building later this summer. Li and Harrigan receive ESSIC End of the Year Awards

At this year’s AOSC/Geology/ESSIC annual holiday party, two members of the ESSIC staff received end of the year awards as voted by their colleagues. Can Li received the award for “Outstanding Research Paper of 2010” and Iris Harrigan received the award for “ESSIC Administrative Employee of 2011.” The administrative employee of the year award recognizes excellent administrative work done by a member of ESSIC staff this past year and the important role he or she has in conducting the …

Bottom line: The food was good, liked the decor, service was fine and would go back. Was waiting at a bus stop last weekend and noticed this new Thai/Vietnamese place across the street so checked it out for lunch today (do like soup, so pho was the way to go).
