At this year’s 95th annual meeting of the American Meteorological Society (AMS) in Phoenix, AZ, AOSC PhD student Andrew Jongeward was recognized by meeting organizers with the Outstanding Student Poster Presentation Award.
Jongeward’s poster presented at a session on Aerosol-Cloud-Climate Interactions gave an assessment of trends seen in the aerosol loading over the western North Atlantic Ocean during the period of 2000 to 2012. Advised by ESSIC / AOSC Professor Zhanqing Li, Jongeward impressed meeting judges with his ability to convey the substance and importance of his research. The award carries with it a certificate and $150 prize.
“I’m really glad Andy is a creative student and active in pursing new research ideas,” noted Professor Li. “He is eager to toggle with the frontier of climate problems.”
