About the position:
A postdoctoral researcher to advance air quality studies by integrating satellite, ground-based, and model outputs. The successful candidate will employ advanced machine learning techniques, including foundation models, to analyze multi-source environmental data and develop innovative solutions for air quality monitoring and prediction, with a particular focus on wildfires and smoke analysis impacting U.S. air quality.
Primary Responsibilities
Responsibilities include designing robust algorithms, collaborating with interdisciplinary teams, publishing research findings, working on wildfires and smoke analysis for U.S. air quality, and contributing to grant proposals
Qualifications
• U.S. Citizenship or Green Card holder only due to restrictions at Government facilities
• Ph.D. in environmental science, atmospheric science, computer science, or a closely related discipline, awarded within the past two years
• Proven expertise in machine learning, including the application of foundation models and advanced algorithms to environmental data
• Experience in integrating and analyzing multi-source data from satellite, ground-based, and model outputs
• Strong programming proficiency and analytical skills, with the ability to design robust algorithms for air quality monitoring and prediction
• Ability to collaborate with interdisciplinary teams, publish research findings, and contribute to grant proposals, especially in the context of wildfires and smoke analysis affecting U.S. air quality
