ESSIC research professor Xiaolei Zou has a new article published with IEEE Journal of Selected Topics in Applied Earth Observations and Remote Sensing. It focuses on the Advanced Baseline Imager (ABI) on the GOES-R/GOES-16 satellite launched in November 2016 and how its technology improves aspects of 24-hour forecasts, such as for low rain amounts.
