ESSIC Director Professor Antonio Busalacchi was interviewed by the Canadian publication Globe and Mail for a piece on how global warming is ruining prized French red wine. Busalacchi noted that grape vine leaves close when air temperatures exceed 30 C, effectively halting the plant’s photosynthesis. Busalacchi stated that the number of 30 C days is likely to triple by mid-century.
