ESSIC professors Ross Salawitch and Eugenia Kalnay met with two different groups of about 20 middle school students from the Higher Achievement Program, August 1, engaging in a question and answer session and conversation.
The program includes coursework in literature, science, mathematics, social studies, and electives, as well as a three-day trip to a college. The scholars spend 650 hours a year, in addition to attending school for the standard 900 hours a year, learning an advanced curriculum that is aligned to state standards.
