The annual midsummer party for the summer internship programs was held on 17 July 2024 at the Earth System Science Interdisciplinary Center (ESSIC) Building in College Park, Maryland. This year, CISESS had 50 interns and 31 mentors. Climate Resilience Network, an initiative partially supported by Earth System Science Interdisciplinary Center, started their own internship program with 9 interns and 10 mentors.
Jennifer Collins, Climate Resilience Network’s Education Innovation Coordinator, held a workshop aimed at preparing them for their end-of-summer internship presentations. After the workshop, interns and mentors socialized over pizza and beverages. It was a great opportunity for the students to talk to fellow interns and scientists about their summer research as well as their academic and professional goals.
