ESSIC Director / AOSC Chair Fernando Miralles-Wilhelm is a co-author in a new book now available titled “The Food-Energy-Water Nexus”.
The book is a general, up-to-date reference on the food-energy-water nexus meant for use in higher level undergraduate and graduate level courses, and as a general reference on this major area of research and practice. It discusses the topic from a number of perspectives, including science, policy, governance, infrastructure, and international. Miralles-Wilhelm wrote the chapter on modeling, and co-wrote chapters in “Question and Scales” and “Applying Science to Practice”.
Miralles-Wilhelm is a hydrologist and water resources engineer who conducts research on water, sustainability and climate. He has worked on problems related to surface water and groundwater; physical, chemical and biological processes in aquatic ecosystems; climate-hydrology-vegetation interactions in ecosystems; water resources management in urban and agricultural watersheds; stormwater management; and water quality control.
