An interactive status page has been produced for each WSR-88D radar to illustrate the relative occurrence of lightning and severe weather in the context of varying radar status. These documents were compiled as part of efforts toward quantifying the value of “Using GLM to Fill Radar Coverage Gaps”. This was one of several GLM benefits identified in a recent GLM value assessment that the GLM science team is working to better quantify. An example is provided for the KMRX radar in the figure.
