A paper co-written by Viviana Maggioni from George Mason University as well as ESSIC/CISESS Senior Faculty Specialist Patrick Meyers and past ESSIC/CISESS intern Monique Robinson is the Journal of Hydrometeorology’s most cited paper published in the past 4 years.

Titled “A Review of Merged High-Resolution Satellite Precipitation Product Accuracy during the Tropical Rainfall Measuring Mission (TRMM) Era”, the paper reviews previous work on satellite precipitation products that focused on validating satellite precipitation products during the Tropical Rainfall Measuring Mission (TRMM) era (1998–2015).

Today, Monique Robinson is an AP Award-winning meteorologist at WWAY News in North Carolina.  At ESSIC/CISESS, Meyers evaluates and develops algorithms for passive microwave retrievals of geophysical parameters, particularly precipitation rates over land.  His latest efforts focus on data visualization and developing GOES-R products at the CICS-MD Proving Ground and Training Center.
